Scored a correct reverse + - Y-55 Delco Energizer Battery
It has never been charged, empty NOS. Spent a good hour getting it all cleaned up. Probably paid to much for it but I'll pay that CC later. Talking with Chick, I think I may heat up the label and remove it. I have not decided yet. He is under the impression that there was NO label on the assembly line batteries, and I think he is correct. And maybe even the yellow was not there either. Although I don't think we know that for sure yet. The battery is showing 1972 as it's first year to be punched on the tag. So I am assuming this is a late '71, very early '72. I may leave the tag, cause that just shows that it is an over the counter purchase. That matches my 55,000 original mile car. My car is not being restored, so it would probably have a label, Right? Just like if the owner of the car went down and got a battery 4 or 5 years after buying the car. I need to learn how I am going to get the little wax stuff out, and what to put in it, and get it charged. I have already been offered 2K from a couple local Camaro friends. So who knows, that buys a lot of goodies!.. Danny
