Any other options for crankcase ventilation?

I have my original oil fill tube with PCV connection and wanted to try to use that and use my original chrome script valve covers (no baffles or holes for PCV/breather).  I also have the old air cleaner with two tubes in the base.

I do not have the ventilator can in the block under the intake manifold or the connection at the back of the block.  There is a freeze plug back there now.   

Question is, am I limited to using aftermarket valve covers, which I have already, with a PCV (driver side) and breather (passenger side) until I get the ventilator and connector set up correctly or is there another way to ventilate the engine using my original parts?  Thanks!

Pull the vent from the Oil fill tube fitting to a PCV valve then to a vacuum source at the base of the carb. Doesn't matter where you pull the vent from as long as the crankcase is vented either positively or to atmosphere.

The breather side is where the external engine lubrication comes from.  :~D

You can set this system up like a later GM design and it will work great.  Breather intake from a small filter mounted inside the air cleaner down to the passenger side valve cover baffle.  PCV valve goes on the opposite valve cover baffle then hooks up to manifold vacuum.  Works like it was intended and you don't get a lot of oil drizzle all over the engine.  I have tried everything and this is what works (best).

No other way. If you want to use the original rocker covers you will need to install the can and vent from rear of block.

I will add that venting from the highest point (the rocker covers ) is best. You wont get moisture collecting at this high point and creating sludge.

Thanks for the help guys. Until I can get my hands on the K19/K24 parts I'm going to use the valve cover for ventilation...

have a small aftermarket vent that was cut into the pass valcover at the rear. You could hardly see it with the air cleaner on.
