The link William supplied will greatly assist but does anyone have any other red interior pictures they could share either here or via email?

Was it possible to get orange seatbelts with the orange/black houndstooth interior???

Obviously not but it brings up a point. Custom Deluxe belts were a required option on Z11 and created the impression they were included. I had a Z/28 with an orange interior but standard belts. Thought that was odd until I saw Camaro dealer ordering info.

Hey,
Is that a BLACK houndstooth interior? If so and it is in good condition, I would be interesrted in purchasing from him and maybe that will help with his conversion. I have a '67 SS with no interior and I will probably never fully restore to original. I am in Central Ohio so a road trip to Pa. is not out of the question.

Come on now. You have your choice standard black or black deluxe....even I can read the link for that.
No orange. Of corse you could have some made, along with a orange headliner and orange steering wheel, (spray) console orange...you get the idea. :D

now you're being funny!   :)

Sorry, its white houdstooth and in excellent condition. His correct red interior is actually ready to install and was restored by Al Knoch and looks great!

Again, good info from William as the pace cars came to mind immediately but another one cleared up.

He also says he has a new Vintage Air system for installation...  Does anyone here know what the compromises are to install a Vintage Air unit on a '69 Camaro?

(Because it's mostly under the dash, there are definite compromises installing vintage Air on a trifive chevy; loss of original radio space and glove compartment space).  I suspect similar situations with a Camaro...

If I may ask politely, what does this have to do with the original post other than a hi-jack of the thread. :)
Still looking for other pics of the red interior if available.

Chick, my 69Z is Garnet Red with 719 red deluxe with red deluxe seat belts.  The problem that I see, is that my original photos of the interior are not any better than the pic that William posted on the convertible.  I would be glad to help any way that I could.  My red interior is out of the car for dis assembly, and is scattered all over the shop.  PM me if you want to!

Do any of you remember which interior dye you used for the 719 red? Has anyone used this MCI stuff from Camaro Central and is it just "RED".

SPRAY PAINT, MCI LEATHER VINYL AND HARD PLASTIC REFINISHER FACTORY INTERIOR DYE, 12 OZ. CAN

With my rear interior panels out, they have darkened near the quarter window. I tried to clean them, but no success. Maybe there is something special I should be using to clean this, I tried vinyl cleaner?

I would have a hard time restoring a car and using something other than the correct inserts.
I'd like to see a close up of the Al Knoch basketweave... is it perforated or a true weave?

My understanding is that no one is making an accurate reproduction of the 'woven' seat material, and taht all the repros are actually a 'stamped' vinyl material (visually similar but doesn't breathe).  So for accuracy, besides cleaning/restoring your original material, what other options are there?   IS the material itself available somewhere for replacing the insert?

The comfort weave was used in Pontiacs EXTENSIVELY and other cars as well, I would find low mile rear seats and start pulling them apart for the inserts. IF I am not mistaken Buicks used the same weave -

Camaro inserts are very short and thus can be pieced from the best sections.

that's a great approach for use of original material .... IF you can find the right stuff..  :)

That's what I was hoping I could do re my orange houndstooth (ie. find a decent original rear seat to remove the material to repair my front buckets, but I've about given up on that after trying for years...  It seems every person who advertised or even stated that they had an original orange houndstooth interior upholstery for sale... actually had an 'old' reproduction...  :(

PS.  If anyone knows of some one restoring an original orange houndstooth interior, with a decent rear cover, I'd be very interested in obtaining it.. :)
