Brake booster Remanufactured

Hi guys anybody used John Stuart for re manufacturing brake booster  ?  http://www.johnstuartpowerbrake.com/Power-Boosters.page
They offer zinc plating, I'm concern about correct finish.

 I have only used brakeboosters.com They have the best work quality and know how to correctly finish a booster in the proper hues, IMO.

Reminds me ,I got to get a few items out to him.

CHP did mine, sent some pics of it to Steve (requested). Nothing negative was said about it.

Did you polish it before sending it out? mine is pitted i'm afraid it will show even more after the dipping.
do you have a picture of it before you sent it?

I did not, however mine was in good shape to begin with, but it did need to be re-plated. Having talked to Steve , proper prep is a must for longevity. His is a solid name in the industry ,returns your calls ASAP ,and is a downright friendly guy on the phone. We ended up talking about proportioning valve finish ( see Chick's thread). Of which I'm sending out shortly + dust shields.( been a busy winter).

I'd suggest sticking with someone you know produces good results.  If you've seen/approve of the work that 'John Stuart' does, then it should be fine.  I went with Steve Grigori after seeing many recommend him, I talked to him on the phone, and his price was good.   I did clean and bead blast some old black paint off mine before sending it to him..   When he received it, he called me back and we discussed whether I wanted it 'polished' or not; he told me it would be better, but seeing where the small pits were on mine (not obvious I thought), I didn't elect the extra polishing.   I think he polishes all to an extent, but for deep pits he has some extra processing he can do at extra cost as I recall.   I'm perfectly happy with mine as received.  It's installed, although I haven't yet driven the car since... attached are 'before' and 'after' photos...   My recommendation for booster rebuilding:   Brake Boosters / Steve Grigori...   :)

 Providing the pitting is not too severe, to me it adds to the cars patina to reflects its age and history even after it is related.

Your car is no longer considered unrestored since you had the booster replated..  Might as well tear it completely down and finish the job now..  ;D

I wasn't 'restoring' the booster, I just had it rebuilt...  :)  it's all in the semantics you know.

White post rebult the MC and Steve Grigori rebuilt the booster...  :)

Moot point, by the time the car is finished the 'maintained' booster will have patinated to perfection :D
