1967 SS350 Decode? HELP?
« on: December 24, 2014, 12:51:20 AM »
Hi All,

I am new to this forum, I'm looking at purchasing an RS/SS 350.....I have read all the info on CRG an I am confused regarding the 4P code.

Can someone please help looking at the cowl tag & vin and give me their opinion?

VIN 124377N18059

Thanks in advance.

George

P 4 is the L-48 engine 350 cid 295 H.P. super sport package.

Vince,
4P could be an L30 too.  See http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#67Codes

VIN is missing a digit.
Since it has a 2M and a 4P, that means it is a SS350 auto.
Nice to see it still has the power windows.
Missing the wheelwell trim and side trim, btw.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your reply.
The interior of the car is original with the power windows still working!!
The exterior of the car the colour has changed from the original royal plum.

Does the 2M represent a  2sp powerglide or TH350 or TH400 for the SS350?

I'm certain the current engine and transmission is not matching to the car.
VIN 124377N180509
Engine No. 1110133047T02040LK

looks like what I'm intending to buy is rs/ss350 body with non-matching driveline and body colour.

Thanks

George

2m is powerglide, no turbo 350 in 67 camaros and turbo 400 was a big block only.

My one 67 L35 w/TH400 has the UOIT listing 2M as M35 "PWR GLIDE AUTOMATIC"
I believe this to mean the Fisher body was prepared to use an automatic transmission in general and not indicative of the model transmission used.

It came with a powerglide. The ad says 3-speed auto, so it could be a TH350 or a TH400 now.
The seats aren't correct - wrong pattern for 765.
Does he have the AC compressor?

I agree the point I was trying to make is that with the car being a small block it had to be a power glide.  No other choice for a small block 67.
