Its a 350/295HP engine from a 67 Camaro with an automatic transmission, built at the Norwood Assembly Plant with a VIN of 124377N207562.  Engine was assembled on January 30th 1967 at the Flint engine plant.

I wouldn't necessarily make that statement, I know of one other 67 L48 within 300VIN numbers of this one, with a January 25th MU coded engine.  Besides if you were going to fake an engine for an April built car, wouldn't you expect the engine date to be late March, or early April?

I just meant that some people will install "period correct" motors. At least he has the partial VIN to check against the full VIN on the car.   :)

I have to agree with Mark, "typically" the build date of the engine is within a 30 to 90 days of car build date. If this engine was built January 30, and the car was built mid April, it falls well within these perimeters. My opinion!

The car is a 04A convertible but the VIN is not exactly what you stated its 124677N207562. Does this mean the motor is out of a coupe?

My 1967 RS built 03D has a motor built 01/26/67. Also have the POP to verify it. Ranges can vary on these cars.
