Engine sounds comparison... :)
« on: May 01, 2014, 06:05:39 PM »
To make this Camaro related, I ask you to compare the sounds of your Camaros (Z28's especially) to the sounds of this very valuable (and 50 yr old) race car.. :)   ENJOY!!   :)

Absolutely stunning sound.  Glad he actually drives it..and pretty hard.  Great link. Thanks!
To compare with Z/28 Camaro sound, here's some T/A Camaros leaving the pits.

He ran the Ferrari too. Great sound. My Z had header mufflers and no tailpipes when I got it. I didn't leave it like that long...

Ho Hum, another overpriced euro car. Sounds like a Honda.

Here is an American Muscle Car. Totally stock 1969 ZL-1 motor shoved into my old SS (I no longer own). Just goofing around and not full throttle or going fast.

(moderators: this was filmed on a private road, we were not speeding, no laws were broken. No animals were harmed. That Ferarri is on a public road going above the speed limit)

Here is the sound:

1963 Oldsmobile Jetfire factory Turbo and Methanol injection, 4 speed, posi, 1 of 4 known to exist

Very nice video. The sound of that Ferrari is like a beautiful symphony. I grew up sneaking into the Concours D'elegance in Hillsborough California, you would see all these handcrafted pieces of artwork Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin, Austin Healy, Jaguar, roll onto the lawn and get fawned over. I never understood when I was younger why it was was so one sided and you didn't see them cruising around, only parked at special events. I had all these cars in small scale on a display shelf in my room. I thought when I get old enough I am actually going to drive what I have. Well I still don't have my dream car (1962 Ferrari GTO),but I am thankful for what I have been given the opportunity to purchase, and the ability to drive them.
Let the horses out of the stable...
I am glad there are guys like this out there who drive them.

Yes, it sounded more like a mechanical symphony to me, than a 'Honda'.. :)     and I guess anything that is worth more than we can pay could be termed 'overpriced'... :)   (but I didn't get that Derek Hill had the GTO for sale; just the author's words that other similar cars had sold for over 50M..)..
