...I will miss you, X22. Yes, this is the beginning of the Body Process. Mr. Birdwell (MRLS6) has it in his very capable hands and I have full faith and confidence that he will do my car justice. Praise the Lord that he was put in my life to do this special job. Thanks to Buenymayor for putting us together,  as MRLS6 did his car also.  Thanks for all the encouragement. Glad I don't have to "go it" alone and have others who have been down this road. I've used those tires for "rollers" for about 40 years now. Always seem to hold air or maybe they are petrified. lol. I wish this guy would join the site. He is very knowledgeable although his expertise is with the Chevelle. I asked him a few key questions that only an enthusiast of the car would know, like where the trunk seal gap should be. He answered everything correctly. That is one reason I feel strongly that he will do a great job. Nothing that he looked at rust wise seemed to be a concern, He saw the car in person for the first time today and already gave a plan how he would go about the repairs. He indicated it would be this fall before completion. I know as things progress, I will become more and more eager and impatient. Can't wait to see progress pics as it takes shape. This has been a long time coming and I am ready to see it get done. It will be, of course, H.O. with black top and black D90 and black tail panel and rockers. No spoilers and XT 14x7 rims with dog dish caps and endura bumper. Thanks a ton CRG.

SS hood or ZL2?

SS Bullitt...Of course, all things mentioned (color,stripes,etc.) are the way the car came (born with). I have been thinking to myself recently, what could I do to make the car stand out? I would like it to be a little more distinctive. Just too many "cookie cutter" H.O. cars out there to suit me. That is why I am not adding all the add ons you always see like spoilers or ralley wheels, ZL2 or gauges, you know what I mean. The reality is that I will be lucky just to get the car back together, much less add embellishments. But, I would like to hear from you guys about any ideas (realistic, serious and tasteful) you may have that I could consider to make the car unique or instantly recognizable.  I am thinking a day 2 look, with my traction bars, Sun tach, maybe a set of fat and skinny Cragars. I also like some of the Baldwin/Motion add ons. I do have a pair of NMW tow tabs. What are your thoughts, guys?

I saw all the possible add ons. I think the car will be very distinctive with the SS hood and no spoilers. Now a days I can't remember seeing a car without the cowl hood and spoilers. Seems every 69 is running them these days. I think the 14" wheels with the endura bumper, that car is going to be one of a kind, and I think it will send the message to enthusiasts "this is the way cars came back then". My car doesn't have console gauges, and I will never add them, so good for you.

I also think a neat touch would be to add some original dealer license frames to your car. If you don't know the dealer you can pay for that report that will be available pretty soon. A dealer sticker in the back window or a local race track decal in one of the quarter windows would be a nice touch, and an easy adder. If you wanted to add traction bars or anything else, I would just do it a piece at a time after you have the car all together, because each change will change the look of the car yet again.

ive always thought the day 2 look to would be very period correct, but i would add some torque thrust like available back in the day not the polished/chrome ones, as cookie cutter as it sounds
