Howdy all. Just found this site and thread and registered, and had to reply for my 1st post. I am the original owner of a 69 coupe, built in Nov. '68 at the Norwood plant. Although it's
just a base model, it's unrestored - with the exception of being re-painted 15 years ago with it's original color which is Lemans Blue lacquer. Just rolled over 86,036 miles. Low option car - main options are: PS, A/C, 327/210, Powerslide
. Only gasket ever broke on the 327 is the water pump. Still has the original lug nuts, wheels, dog dish hub caps, interior, sheet metal, Protec-A-Plate, documents, copy of window sticker, etc. No broadcast sheet was found when taken apart for paint. Went down to bare metal for paint - front clip off, glass & ALL external trim off, and entire interior removed down to the bare shell - paint was done right.
Pix are:
1st is before the paint - and yes, I drove it on the track - my better half left her fingerprints in the seat
;
2nd is after the paint;
Sorry I don't have a pic of it when new. As you may - or may not - be able to see in the 1st pic, the paint was crap. I couldn't stand it anymore, and had it done. Numerous trophies and awards. My better half & I dated in it starting in 1972. Our newborn son was brought home in it in '74. Our 19 year old grandson drove it for the 1st time last summer before going to boot camp. My mom also used it (she bought it for me in April '69 (after I failed in my endeavor to get a 427 copo car - I had a cool mom!), and that was the catch). So there it is - 4 generations! I named it "My Addiction" - a fitting name!
Thanks for lookin',
Mike.
