69' Z/28 on eBay... What a Car!
« on: January 12, 2014, 06:54:52 AM »
This is how you are supposed to post a for sale ad for a classic car. Besides the obvious repop warped dash pad, a few other things including finish issues, this is a heck of a nice car. Many stamps to look over. What say all of you? Trim Plate - Trans stamps - block front pad stamps - etc. etc. All look good?? Cause I am about to get a loan...  ;) ;) Is this car in the DB??

Looks like a nice car, if you can overlook the minor finish issues (like PTB stamps on a Van Nuys car, missing quarter louvers if the rest of the style trim items are factory correct, etc). How big is the loan you're considering?

I agree with ZLP, someone has installed all the X33 items (except the quarter louvers) on  X77 car. PTB stamps, the heat shields ( spoilers added) on the passenger side of the block, & also came with a flat hood.
The resto looks very clean, I like the endura front bumper and the color is awesome

Pretty car---other than the " do-dads"  looks very straight an clean. If all the numbers are legit, hope you land it for around that price. Think I would inquire about some pictures during the body work phase. Surprised nobody really uses this as a selling point. Something to be said about low/no mud ,OE sheet metal.

Pretty car for sure. As the others have said a few inconsistencies regarding originality when the car was painted. When I see these things I am concerned that bigger items were not done right not knowingly by the restorer. Original sheet metal is nice.

It all looks *real* from the pictures, and a pretty nice restoration.. and the PTB stamps should clean off pretty easily.. :)
I like it... a *real* Z28.. nicely kept, good paperwork, and looks very good.  (these cars were not perfect from the factory!~)..

Many of us in CRG who are 45+ years and older should look that good and restored to original as this car does.
I'm not a Z-28 fan but this does grab my attention.

he shows one original pic, but the letter next to it says there is another, you want to inquire about him posting the second pic. Jano made a good point about the body work, if there were any pics taken then. It looks like some others have taken notice on how clean this car is, (62k reserve not met)

Not perfect from the factory ,what??  :D

Funny how you can look at all these cars and some just grab you. Not all do. Something about that blue Z does me.

Hope he gets it for a good price.

The gaps and lines look dead on to me ( body)
Looks like they might have utilized the old weather seal around the doors--like it. I'm reusing all mine so I'm a little partial.

So, no PTB stamp on Van Nuys cars? I learn something new on here every day!  ;D

Correct, but if you want to verify it yourself, it is stated in JohnZ's article on the first-gen assembly process, located HERE.
The relevant quotation is "followed by a final inspection (at Norwood, but not Van Nuys, "P", "T", and "B" ink stamps were applied to the body for Paint, Trim, and Body inspection OK), and the body was shipped up the ramp to Chevrolet. "
