That's priced outside the range of the regular folks.
Honestly, I hate the new Camaro body. If I were to buy a new car today it would definitely be the new Challenger R/T.

At that price I'd buy a fully equipped 2014 Vette with the Z51 package...

Ironic, very little was known about the first Camaro Z/28, and it was priced very economically. From everything I read from former dealers and their former floor sales guys when asked what got you the most bang fro your buck, The Z/28 was far and away the easy choice.

The new Z has a ton of fan fare and while I am glad it is true to its roots performance wise, it seems like marketing has as much to do with the car as handling. Would have been nice to shave the weight and then price it just under the 3 SS. Maybe you could have added in the carbon fiber brakes, light weight back window, and a few other items as add ons, kinda like the JL8 or M22 were add ons back in the day. That would put the car into more enthusiasts hands and then if the buyers wanted to dive into their retirement funds for the extras that would have been up to them. The way it is now, it seems pretty far out of everyones reach, and it would surprise me when you get that high into the price range someone wouldn't start looking at the Z06, or gran sport Corvette. Thats the way I see it.

I don't hate the Camaro, I do like the challenger body, and the new hell raiser "wild cat" super charged version looks like it will make crazy power, but then again you are trying to move almost 5000lbs of car, and keep up with the Mustang and Camaro. I like the coyote 302 mustang motor, it has a ton of fans already, and a lot of guys are already buying the crate motor and throwing it in their fox bodies and first gen bodies. The LS7 is a monster of a motor, but if ford can make power with 302 cubic inches and keep it competitive why couldn't chevrolet answer the challenge with a 302 of their own? It's hard for me to believe that it would have raised the price of the car, it is more likely that a 302 version would not have moved all the weight of the Camaro around the track any faster. So I tip my hat to ford in this case, out of the big 3 they seemed to have right formula to keep the Boss within reach of its customers price range. Chevrolet and Dodge are trying to overcome weight with more horsepower and expensive handling/braking packages (chevy)

In 2010 I bought a new fully loaded minus sunroof 2SSRS for $35K. Not sure how they justify more than double that. Hated the car. My son has a 2009 Challenger R/T and I love it. Way better car to drive.

At that price point I would rather own a 427 Convertible corvette.

Chances are that their target audience for the Z/28 already owns a Z06 and or a ZR1.

I hope the one the public gets runs as good as the test cars.  I had a 11 SS that was very slow..   took it in a few times and GM said nothing was wrong with it.   the wifes denali would hurt it feeling and im guessing my company work car would have given it a run for its money... :(

On a side note, have you seen the youtube video of the Z28 going around Nürburgring,

Awesome video. But $75K.... that would be like the original Z costing like 15K back in 67 , 8 , or 69. How many would they have sold then?

Believe it's gonna be limited.   At that price I can see why.

I have heard the same thing about 1200 to 1500 units per the "Jay Leno's Garage " show where het with one of the engineers and took it out for a ride. That was back in October, so 6 months will have come and gone by the time it hits the dealerships, so things may change...
