WOW!!! What a car......Pretty bold statement. I wish there was a story about this car instead of just a 50 word description.... Danny

Maybee it's one of these cars that were left by the dealer and no one bought it...?  :P

It's a nice car, original paint.
But the underside has been fluffed a bunch and hit with paint. Look at the axle pic.

Engine compartment looks to be looks to be dolled up manifolds painted, but would that really matter or do I not know what I am looking at.

I don't think it is the only iron 427 Camaro that is unrestored but definitely not the only unrestoed 427 COPO Camaro including ZL1s
as there is this amazing ZL1 story.

There are some 427 COPO Camaros that were old race cars that remain mostly unrestored but have mods from racing since new

...  edited..

That car (the original one in this thread) looks TOO good to be unrestored..  it's definitely 'warmed over' even if it was done  a long while ago.  I don't think there is any way, outside of a vacuum chamber, to preserve a Chevrolet that well for 44 yrs..  :) ..
There WAS an unrestored (barn find) COPO at the Camaro Nationals this year..  photos attached.  which show what a *real unrestored* car looks like. :)
So their primary claim of 'being the only unrestored iron block COPO' is not accurate..

PS.  What was the highest body number in '69 PRIOR to the resetting in August '69??

Yeah, that white COPO showed about 740 miles or so on the odometer. Owner was a nice guy as well and I believe he was thinking about selling it.

The blue car has had the magic squirt can treatment (aerosol paint can) or something like it; underneath and  on the suspension.  Over 30 years ago a friend transplanted a 427 into his 69 and invited me over for a look and a ride.  The engine bay looked good,  I was impressed (a quick ride impressed me more)  Upon our return to his garage; and looking under the front of the car, he had aerosol canned the whole front suspension and rear axle(including fuel lines and brake lines).  It just looked really bad.   Looking at the photo's of the blue car reminds me of that day.
I like the white car much better!

is the white 427 Camaro a double COPO?

I remember a white one like that that had original paperwork that showed it had COPO 9561 and COPO 9511  (special order 4.56 gear)

We Vintage Certified the car in 2003.. Obviously some of the owner/sellers claims are inaccurate. Very nice car, and very rare. Overall score was below 90% in 2003, and who know what has been done to it since then. The owner should have our scoring sheets, which details our findings in a 5 page report.

Paceme, You are talking about the blue one from when I started this thread, or the white one?... Danny

I think the bright pedal trim and driver's side wood grain accents are add ons. Not sure about the hood insulation either.

I was referring to the azure copo. I first saw it in 1995 at the ICC camaro national show in the Poconos.
