« on: September 09, 2013, 11:22:58 AM »
I got a PPG Deltron paintcode from another site, but apparently does not exist anymore. Also need black code also for the stripes.

Im not necesarily going to use Deltron, but I want a BC-CC paint....  any help is appreciated.

If your source says the 'color' is no longer available in deltron..  check another source (maybe another state), OR check online sources?  I haven't checked for ermine while lately, but it's difficult to believe they can't mix it up...

Ditzler/PPG code 8259 also equates to DuPont 4024-L, if that helps.

You need to call the PPG library and see if they have formulas on file that jobbers do not. I do it often. Ermine was available in Concept. Or just use another paint company. When painting bikes I sometimes have to use R-M or Glasurit becasue PPG does not have a formula, and time does not allow for a lab match. Once someone has a lab match done, it is entered in their system. Not sure why you want to use BC/CC when shooting a solid color. If additional UV protection is preferred, you can cocktail the last coat/coats of Concept with clear. Black is a different story. SS black shot and then cleared has more depth than BC/CC.

I totally concur with Sauron's statement...   "Not sure why you want to use BC/CC when shooting a solid color. If additional UV protection is preferred, you can cocktail the last coat/coats of Concept with clear."

This approach will give you the best looking paint possible IMO... :)
