Front kick panels 69 Camaro
« on: August 02, 2013, 04:20:50 PM »
What is the difficulty level in R & R the front lower kick panels. Does the dash pad have to come out, or the dash come apart or is it impossible to do without taking the interior apart?
Any tips or suggestions are appreciated!

You unscrew the 6 or so pan head screws around the vent opening and start pulling.  The vent opening part has a flange on the back side that goes thru the structure of the car out into the elephant ear section, and are also sealled to the steel structure with dum-dum sealer.  They can be VERY hard to pry out of the vent opening, but they will come out.  Best done on a real hot day so the plastic is softer.  Once you get them loose you can disconnect the vent operating cables from the slide levers and get the kick panel out completely.
