Wiper blade refills
« on: July 05, 2013, 10:54:28 PM »
Anybody have a source for wiper blade refills for our cars? I need a 15" and a 16" set. There is a whole blade available from Trico but haven't seen just the refills anwhere. I'm afraid waiting for NOS to show up on ebay isn't for me.

So what I have found here so far is RF-15 for the 69 Camaro and the same was used on the 67 Corvette. I was looking on the Paragon website but didn't see a reference to refills though, just the blade with the rubber.

Refills are getting harder and harder to find. More and more retailers only sell whole blades. The explanation I have gotten from counter help have ranged from refills are illegal, to refills never fit anyway, just buy the whole blade. My belief is there is more proffit and less inventory when you don't carry refills. When you find a vendor, you might think about buying several sets.

There are millions of 60's and 70's cars out there and no one can make just the refills. Seems like a no brainer to me.

I have gotten a few NOS sets off of ebay, they are pretty common. I think I paid like $20 for the last set.

Looks like 33-150 is the whole blade and 43-150 is a pair of refills.

Just scanned ebay, there is a NOS set as a "buy it now" for $29, or you can make the guy an offer, and get an even better deal. Auction #160917044917

I found a pair of the correct RF-16 with ribs and patent numbers for $26.00 shipped on ebay for my 69 Impala and made an offer for $20.00 for the 15" ones Bullitt65 linked to. Still, you would think there would be SOMEBODY making some sort of refill for people who like to keep their original blades. Those black replacements are pretty cheesy looking. I have a set on my 69 Impala, and they don't look like they belong.

Glad you found them. The die hard guys find the original correct ones. I actually bought a trico gas station display from the 50's NOS in the box a while back, and then bought a lot of all kinds of wiper refills to go in it, and there were couple of pairs of the rf -15 in there as well. I doubt I will go through 3 pairs on my camaro in my life time.

I think refills arr still available from most manufacturers.  It's the retailers that are choosing not to stock them.

Hard to tell from the pictures, but I don't think those are correct.
Originals had a "skeleton like" backbone - those look to be a solid metal strip?

Lets hope they're the correct ones. If not they are going back. I bought a set for my 69 Camaro and my 69 Impala.
