From the top with the ball tip glued back on...
I've never seen it done, but that's what my Mustang friends tell me.

I went online and looked it up. There was a site showing where guys cut a late model GM antenna and glued the ball back on. I also found a site where they were doing the same thing to late model Mustang antennas.

My NOS AM/FM fixed mast is 31.5" overall length, umounted. Part is in the original GM sleeve, so I know it's correct and original. If you need any additional dimensions, ask.
