Yes it does have the French tag.  I've got photos and will post shortly.  I've also managed to track down a movie the car is in which the King of Cambodia made in 1969.  The quality is bad and the movie is ordinary, but worth a quick look. If you cut and paste the following into your browser it will take you to it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15JHdB0O9sM

Photo of the US plate. Sorry it's a bit difficult to read. I haven't worked out what it all means yet.

Trunk emblem. Not sure what this is but guess it may be the importer? Another terrible quality photo but you get the idea!

Missed the question re #1 owner.  I was told the car was given to the King of Cambodia by the French government in 1967 but don't know how I'd verify this. The movie seems the best indication it was his car but unless I can get some documentation from GM France it is all circumstantial.

My guess is that "R. Devivilier" was a French dealer who originally 'sold' the car (and that could certainly have been to the French gov't, as well as anyone else)?

It looks like a great candidate to clean up. I don't see the diamond grill in the video, also didn't notice any "RS" emblems.

Actually I don't see any emblems at all? Seems like someone may have gone through the trouble of locating some and installing them at one point?

Yes, still lots of unanswered questions! Wheels are also different but pretty unlikely there were two of these in Cambodia at that time.  I think it is more likely they removed the emblems for the movie then replaced them afterwards.  There are some interior shots later in the film and seat trim etc all looks correct, but the quality is very ordinary as you've seen so difficult to be sure.  I am trying to get a better quality copy of the movie but no luck so far.
I haven't seen these type wheels on any other cars. Does anyone know if they were an option orare they just something they ound that fitted? They are similar to wheels on GM cars in Australia around that time.

They look like pontiac style steel wheels, that I have seen with "PMD" center caps. The pontiac wheels aren't that hard to come by, over here (USA), but you may get some decent coin over there if a pontiac is over there that is in need of the wheels. (if there not to corroded or rusty). They may have come on the Holden cars sold in Austrailia at the time as well.

Hi from France.
There are a lot of camaros like your in my country, most of them where a lot of options
Deluxeint, disc brakes, power top windows etc..just like mine
It's seem that the addon from lights where introduces after january 67 because my 129xxx never had them but most oh french cars have.68 too.

For the wheels .rallyes where standard because of the front power disc brake no front drums available ...

And all the french import where build in nortwood. it seem no los angeles built originaly exported.

Forthe french trim tag that's the first time i see this one at the place of yours...generaly they're located at the right side just near the blower motor
