No problem. It really bites to hear about things like this. But there out there everywhere.   :(   Can you tell me where in Kansas it was taken? Just trying to get more info out.

Hutchinson KS just north of Wichita it was taken by a female she put a Kansas SG  (sedgwick) county plate on the car and drove away.  The owner took the check to their bank and it was not real.  The sad thing is the lady who sold it signed over the title and everything.
here is the website I put up.

That's why I always either wait until check clears, get cash or have wire transfer before car and title leave.

Yes sir. What Danny said. Seen a lot of friends burned this way giving title out without getting all the money up front. I won't even let the car out of my sight until I know the money is in the bank if it's even a check.

I can only assume the authorities are aware and the vin will or has been placed on a stolen car list?
Hope this has a good ending........

Yes the HPD is aware but they do not have a very good record of recovering anything stolen IMHO.  The lady who got taken is a trusting retired lady who just wanted to make someones dream of owning the car come true.  I guess like they say no good deed goes unpunished.

Are you watching e-bay, craigs list, etc for parts that might be from the car ?

Watching ebay but difficult to see if it is the same car since it belonged/s to one of the members of our car club,  a retired lady, I don't know all the characteristics of it i just have the high res pictures on the www.saltcitycruisers.com/IROC website

If you had insurance on it the day she picked it up, you should be able to claim the loss
