ZL/2 breather wing nut question.
« on: April 12, 2013, 08:06:21 PM »
Been reading the posts and replys on the original carb stud for the "cowl induction" breather. Is the supplied stud with the reproduction set up close or no? How about the one HBC provides? Also it seems no one is supplying the wing nut anywhere, is it available? All parts on my Z are original GM pieces but not original to the car except the stud, breather/lid, valve cover tube, and wing nut, those are reprocuction my wife bought me 10 years ago.

Been with my wife since 1970  :) For Christmas she asks what I would like and I give a list of items, web URL's and pricing so Santa gets it right.
She says "It must be a guy thing.......only guys would want nuts, bolts and gaskets for Christmas"

Remember...Love is Grand....and Divorce is 100 grand!  ;D

Can I add my first marriage to that equation? June 6, 1976, divorced 8 years and 3 kids later. Didn't cost me a cent though, gave here everything, didn't want it...just a lot of mental anquish for the next 30 years of my current marriage is all she gave me. My first wife started some crap with the current wife when they first met and that was the first time in my life I didn't want to get in the middel of it. My current wife told my first wife to get out of her face or she would stick her in the ground like a thumb tack. I couldn't stop lauaghing for days. I still chuckle when I think about it.

Anyway...how about that wing nut? Anybody have a pic of an original? I THINK I saw one posted here but I can't remember where it was I saw it.

That's funny Gary.

My first marriage went 8 years and three kids.  Best three kids around.  Still very close.

My wife is an angel.  I am the luckiest guy on earth.  Wouldn't trade her for anything.

Can't help you with the nut and stud.  Sorry.

My oldest, 39 lives next door, he's a keeper. My middle daughter, when she can say go F yourself to me in front of my grandkids, well ,I don't have to say anything there, and my youngest son, well, he's a traveler, he's hiding in Oregen from all his pregnant girl friends. Sorry, I love em but I had to give them up when they hit 18. Heck they know/knew it all by then. At least they don't bother me too much about money, just lots of drama.

Yeah, my wife is too. We don't have any of our own kids and after helping raise mine, I had custody, she just got plain wore out. She's 10 years younger then me and she says she can't keep up with me. Now we have 7 grand kids 4 to 15 and she wants to do it all over again. I told her to leave me out of it...but I can't. I have a 15 year old 'TWIGGY' on my hands that looks up to me because her dad don't care. If I had to be honest here, if you asked my daughters kids where they want to live and they would tell you with mom mom.

Lots of drama around my house. I thank my stars I can go in the garage and work on my 69 Z28 and smoke a cigar and drink a beer.

Gary,

Took a couple of comparison pics between my Z11 and open element Z wings, but the file size is way big to attach. Definite difference between the two - if I can figure out some way to shrink 'em, I'll send them to you.

Regards,
Steve

I was thinking Microsoft Paint would help with resizing but it doesn't. I use 'Irfanview' to resize my pics. Works pretty good in a pinch.
