Dimpled Carb Studs

I have seen dimpled carb studs for sale from time to time and was wondering if they were ever factory installed on any Gen 1 Camaro?

Do not remember that being so defined but maybe! Here is a pic of a carb stud on a 68Z survivor. Notice the shoulder where it meets the carb! Having different suppliers one supplier might have had that from their particular mfg. process. Another member here said they have the same carb stud on their 69Z.

Thanks Chick, so a dimpled stud was used on a Gen 1 in ‘68, that's progress. There was a mention on the Yenko.net forum by a reputable restorer that dimpled carb studs were "correct" for an L78 '69 Camaro. I found that to be a bold statement especially in light of postings from John Z and others that fasteners (and their markings) used on the NOR and LOS assembly lines varied by supplier and there was little consistency. There were no other postings on the subject I could locate and I have never seen them used or referenced elsewhere.

I believe Chick is showing the stud at the carb's center, while the other studs are for attaching the carb to the manifold. JMO

Those dimpled carb attaching studs were commonly seen on '62-'67 (and possibly later) Corvettes; they were installed at the engine plants.

Thats weird because the 69 AIM shows the studs being installed at the assembly plant, they have a partnuber shown in the AIM.  The Z28 on the other hand, does not show a part number for the studs, and these two engines are the only ones that used the Holly Carbs, and would have had manifold studs, as opposed to carb bolts..

Mark, what UPC are you looking at that shows the carb mounting studs? I don't see them listed in the L78 or the Z28 section in any of the 3 first gen AIM's.

I was looking at the wrong number in the L78 sheet (L78 A4) and screwed up.   Saw the part number for stud (3972235) item 11 and blindly associated it with the carb studs.  But its really the stud for mounting the fuel line "T" fitting to the passenger side head.  Wasn''t in the Z28 one at all.  Apparently because the "T" fitting for the gas line attached to the carb mounting stud, not a separate one in the head.
