Dash pad codes

Can anyone tell me what these codes/numbers mean?

wouldn't that be strange that a 68 dash pad was made when 68's weren't even in production yet and 67's were still going strong?

If your going by the date of 11/8/67 that was Nov. 67 and '68 was in production full bore. Production started in August of the previous year for model year. ie. '68 in Aug. 67  and '69 in Aug. 68 
As for the 866 I have no idea what that's for unless it's an internal production code.

I was under the impression that the 118 was julian for Friday April 28, 1967

I don't know about that. It could be but all things I've saw with Julian dates never had the year included. I was under the impression that when Julian was used on parts it was a given that it was for the model year. But like I said I don't know.

I think that julian dates need a year to associate it's production with. Shocks with julian dates would be something like 256 67 for instance.

There is a pic. here of my original P. Steering pump for my 11A (66)built '67 Coupe with Julian Date stamped on top (276 6)it has the year stamped.

The 866 is probably the work order number for the car.  The 866th car on wahtever production day it was built.  Would match the same numbers written on other parts of the car, so that the dash got to the right car in the right order on that day.

You all had my curiosity going with this - so I looked under my original pad I still have laying around and it has a 122167 number stamped in silver ink on it, along with and beside with a round logo that says 'made in canada' printed in the same silver paint, and there is also what appears to be a hand written grease pencil number scrawled nearby which is 317.
Most of the parts for my car were all cast in late December '67 and this appears at least to be another piece which follows that trend if the numbers I am seeing make sense and follow that trend. As for the 317 - I have no idea..

Randy.....If your engine side of the firewall hasn't been molested, look on the passenger side and see if there is a number in grease pencil written there.....if so, see if it matches the 317 number.  You may also find the number written on the inside of the lower front valence.  Also if you have the original spare tire the number may be written there also.  My 1968 car has those production numbers written in those areas.

Jerry - everything under the hood was splashed with flat black paint when I got the car and it took me quite a bit of effort and more paint to correct it all - so if there is anything (or was) scripted there, its well buried by now.
As for an original spare mine didn't have an original one and you may be in the .001% of owners who have cars which still do!
As for marks in the valence area I don't ever recall seeing any - but never really looked all that hard and never had any front end parts off for any reason to make it more obvious if it ever would be..
Thanks for the suggestions though - imagine it could be some form of scheduling number but if I understand it correctly there wouldn't be much in the way of correlation between trim parts like a dash pad and front body assembly bits at Norwood which were done in different areas and divisions.
Possibly if the seats, carpets, or headliner etc. were done at the same time as the dash pad in the Chevrolet side and not split between that and the Fisher side, it might be logical that they needed to be tied into a work order number for colour coding etc. and thus such a number to assist in that..

They don't. One is a Fisher number, the other is a Chevrolet number. Even though it was a GMAD plant....
