Door and window weather stripping
« on: October 17, 2005, 10:29:49 PM »
Greetings all CRG members!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can anyone tell me how much wind noise is considered normal on the door glass and jambs of a 67 Camaro? At around 70 mph the wind noise in my 67 is so bad you can't hear yourself think!!!!!!! I replaced the weatherstripping awhile ago but it is almost like there is nothing there. On the drivers side especially, where the front door glass meets the rear quarter glass stripping, the glass only overlaps the weather stripping by about quarter of an inch. Everything appears to be installed correctly. Could the door need to be adjusted up, down back or forth to help correct this problem or is this something I have to deal with?

And the new format is awesome!!!!!!!!! Nice job people!!!!!!!!!

dab......It's been years since I went through replacing the weather striping but I had the interior out of the car at the same time and remember spending a great deal of time trying to get the pieces to fit back together.  Also rebuilt the front window regulators  so nothing fit properly.  Just took a great deal of trial and error. Have you pulled the door panels to see if you have internal adjustment to the window glass?

Even today, my doors are rather hard to close when all the windows are rolled up. But I don't have any wind noise either.

thanks for the reply J.R.

No I haven't taken the door panels off yet and I haven't checked the regulators but it sounds like I will be doing that soon. Don't mind spending the time doing it, keeps me out of trouble. at least that's what the wife says. I was guessing in is a combination of both the glass and the door that need adjusting.

Thanks for the info!

The Fisher Body Service Manual outlines the procedure for door and quarter side glass adjustment.  :)
