Bittersweet
« on: August 15, 2012, 01:37:51 AM »
Sold my 69 Glacier Blue convertible tonight. The guy just drove off. I hope I don't regret it. I used the money to seed the purchase of a 67 Big Block 427/390 Vette Coupe, second owner 64,000 miles, unrestored...just an old car that needs some lovin but very driveable. The Glacier Blue car was a great L-65 4 speed driver. Guy lives right around the corner so I will see it often. The good news is that I still have the 69 RS Z/28. Something to be said for a great driver with a mild engine and high gears...
Still have mixed emotions about the sale  :-\ :-\ :-\

Tough, I think seeing it regualrly will have mixed pros and cons, but you are trading up. Unrestored cars are the best.

... and you will learn to love driving the Corvette.... looking past those big fender bulges as you drive down the road...  :)
that should help to ease the pain of the Camaro sale..  and you still have the ultimate Camaro to help with that as well!

Congratulations on acquiring the Corvette and agree it should help ease the pain of selling the Camaro, post some pics of the Vette.

I have had the Vette a month now and ya'll are right the pain has subsided but I still think about the convertible...it was/is a good car. BUT that big block in the Vette is a blast to drive. The gear is a 3:36 so cruisin the interstate is very managable and the torque of the big block is something I have never experienced. It is a ton of fun. And yes I love the originality of the car. To top it off I tracked down the original owner and had a great chat with him. He had no pictures unfortunately but had great stories of the car  ;D
