I recently purchased a 69 z28 in canada , I got the gm canada vintage vin search done, it is an x77 paint 59 frost gr. 711 int. built in late april 69 with not to many options listed as follows, W84 additional fuel for delivery, A01 tinted glass, d55 console, G80 rear axle positraction, j50 brakes, j52 front disc, m21 close ratio, pu6 E70-15-b white lettering, u17 gauges, v48 engine coolant increased protection
zk8 lable tire pressure, ZQ7 canadian warranty booklet, Z28 special performance package.
My question is the car has the correct BU coded 3.73 axle, but it has 5 leafs. I think they are the late style with the small bottom leaf being sort of pointed (cut on angles) I belive they are original with them having the bumps in the springs not like replacements with the pin for the squeek pads sticking through, they are so pitted & one main was broken in the middle right at the center bolt. Up untill recently the car sat half parked in a guys shed since the early eighties.did they ever put 5 leaf in Z28's. Any input would be apriciated.
Thanks
