Yes, the straight yellow head restraints were P/N 8777090 and the bent were P/N 8787561. (Although these have clearly been recovered)

No way to know. The factory may have used up the straight headrests before they went to the bent and on the lesser used interior colors, it may have taken longer to do that. Officially, they started using the angled headrests in late November of 1968. However, when they made a change like this, the remaining stock would have normally been moved to "service" status, but  there have been original cars with lesser used interior colors observed built later than November with straight headrests.

Correct, but there's a part number for the straight yellow headrest so who knows!

Not to sound confrontational but I understand having part numbers for items that may or may not have made it into production but it doesn't seem to me that if straight headrests ended around the end of Nov '68 and the fact the yellow houndstooth wasn't introduced until Feb '69 then the likelihood a straight yellow headrest especially in a supposed 05C car seems impossible to have made it into production.  And I guess I have to give props to whoever created the ad to call it a tribute.

That's an understatement. Looks like someone in Taiwan decided to redesign the standard Morraine booster as a snow disc. Never seen one quite like that -

Why go to the trouble to clone this car and then miss the booster ? No bueno -

Steve

This car is now on Bring A Trailer-doesn't mention "tribute" this time.

In the comments.............

classiccarswest (The Seller)

@mr.urich good morning all! The owner did buy the car from Streetside classics He was convinced it was authentic due to the fairly specific corresponding numbers on the car. A late 69 Block casting # 396 with “hi perf pass” casting. A one year, camaro only, 12 bolt rear axle casting # with a late may stamping, VIN on the trans and Norwood vin sequence with correct late may timeline. @69CamaroSS i can’t comment on the data plate as frankly it’s not obvious to me that it’s a reproduction, admittedly i’m not an authority in this area.

All that being said the car is extremely well done, has a very reasonable reserve and we’re willing to call it a tribute if @BAT is willing to change the headline. We want to put all the info out there for bidders prior to them making a decision and determining how much value is present.
