Please see picture of spacer located between upper alternator bracket and water pump observed on a 69 Camaro small block.
Does this look correct and was this spacer originally installed at the factory?

the water pump was replaced, with a generic replacement. with the original gm pump you will not need this.

Its a water pump housing with the mount for the alternator bracket located like a 76-84 small block - they were set back closer to the block and use a different upper bracket. Using a 69 bracket, you need a spacer on that pump, like in the picture.
