So, some more research on this indicates that AIR was only applicable to manual trans. , as indicated in upc 6 a10 and a11 of the 68 aim?
And in '67 was only applicable to CA cars?
Another point of confusion is the crank pulley p/n's
According to the L34/35 w/o smog pulley list, the crank pulley p/n for rpo n40 is different for rpo c60 and c60 + n40. In fact, n40 is the same p/n as base [single groove]
So the questions are, given that there is only one extension pulley, how was it fixed to a single groove crank pulley [n40 only] so that it lined up with the power steering pump pulley?
The aim [upc 6 a11] seems to indicated a 3 groove crank pulley arrangement for n40 w/o smog, with the middle groove not used.
There's also another oddity with the pulley list in that it shows the same crank p/n for w/o smog and w/ smog, when according to upc 6 a10, a 2 groove crank pulley is required for all configurations of rpo's w/ smog.
Another interesting observation is that on both upc6 a10 and a11, the pulley [groove] for the power steering pump is consistently drawn as being the same diameter as the crank pulley in n40 as compared to c60 + n40 which is drawn as smaller than the crank pulley.
Thoughts appreciated...
