69Z With Power Steering
« on: April 14, 2010, 11:10:23 AM »
My 69Z does not have power steering and I was just wondering how many came from the factory with PS. I don't see many in the world with PS and was wandering if those that are in the market are those ones that have had it added? Was it an option that was rarely checked when ordering the car?

Don't know how rare it is, but my Z has factory power steering, complete with deep pulley used on Z applications.

Unfortunately I don't think there is any way to tell how many 1969 Z's came with factory-installed power steering.  My 1969 Z does have it.  I was just thinking that it makes sense to me anyway that any customer ordering a 1969 Z might have opted not to get the power steering to save money and a possible horsepower-robbing accessory; while a 1969 Z ordered by a dealership might be more likely to have power steering to up the price and provide an option that they thought most customers probably would want.
