Very Confused?

I have a 1969 Camaro Vin# 124379N675991 with an engine casting # 3932388, the cowl tag says x-11. Now I am not sure if it is a true original SS or not, since there are so many little things that differ between a true ss and non ss. I have had a hell of a time finding the patrial vin, Ive looked in the two obvious spots (by the cylinder head and the oil filter and all the markings i have seen is n17 by the oil filter) on the casting date it has L17 o8. Does anyone have any information to help me. Originaly i thought i had a regular rs/ss 69, but when I began ready to sell it, I'm finding out there are many clones and fakes so to speak. I want to sell it for a fair price and know exactly what i have. It is listed on ebay area code 87031. Any information or help would be greatly appreciated.

The 3932388 is a rare block used in 69 passenger(350/300HP) and Camaros. A few SS350's and a few Z/28. Casting dates Dec 08 - March 09, however most were dated Sept - Dec 08. Data taken from 'Chevrolets by the numbers' 1965 - 1969.

My suggestion is to work a little harder at finding the partial VIN by the oil filter, it can be hard to find and may be in the rough cast area of the block. That # is an important part of your puzzle.

The 3932388 block is no longer considered rare at all. CRG has compiled more information and its now no longer considered rare. The ...388 block was used extensively in the 69 model year engines and in NON SS cars as well as SS cars. The old data that is in old books and old websites have not updated their information but CRG has.

Romeze is there a welded plate on the rear frame rail behind the drivers side rear wheel, at about 1 o'clock position with 2 holes in it? That "might" be another clue if your car is an SS or not. Also, one fuel line or 2? There are many ways to slowly add up the info. to help you determine what you have. X11 is will not tell you if its SS or not. Sadly.

The N17 you mention by the oil filter could be N67 which is the beginning of your partial vin.
Just a thought.

Thanks everyone for you input, it has been very helpful/ Today i found the engine sufix T0811HA, but no partial vin will try again tomorrow. Hoping that it is a matching numbers car.

You really should add more pics and info, IMO. No pics of the tag, the engine, or the dash hurts the ad.
Can you post or email me a pic of the cowl tag? Is the interior 718 or 719?

Btw, the stripes on an 69 SS should be the hockey stick stripes, not the Z style stripes.

388 block was basically used in the October to December of 68 time frame followed by the 618 thru Mid april of 69 then the 010 block for the next 10 years.  Don't know how an August of 69 built car would have got a casting that had been discontinued 8 months before.  Anything is possible but it certainly would not be the norm,  I would be suspicious of any stampings on that block.

To answer your questions it is a 719, as for the hockey stripes I am not familiar with that yet... there is so much to learn about these first generation camaros. I have put roughly 30 miles on this car in eight years, it has sat there in the garage for the rest. I am asking 21000 for it, what does everyone think about that high/low? I have had a "camaro guy" take a very close look at the block and he seems to think everything is in order as far as the casting and part. vin goes but he could be wrong.. I dont know. I am just trying to sell it for what its worth.

719 is deluxe interior. It currently has a standard interior in it.
What's the build date on the tag?
Price seems in the ballpark, but hard to tell without more info / pictures.
