POMONA, CA. 50th Annual Winter Nationals, Feb 2010
« on: January 05, 2010, 02:46:23 PM »
I am excited to tell everyone on this forum that I'll be racing at the 50th annual NHRA Winter
Nationals in Pomona, CA this coming Feb 11-14th. AND WITH THE NEW '67 Z28
PROJECT STOCKER! I am trying to line up cars for certifications while I'm out
there so if anyone is interested, please let me know and spread the word for me.

Also tell all the Camaro fans in CA that I will be debuting the new Tahoe turquoise 1967 Z28 Stocker on the west coast.

They expect over 200,000 people there throughout the weekend because it's
the 50th anniversary of this race. We start racing on either Wed or
Thursday of that week. Will also do the Phoenix NHRA National Event the
following weekend.

Glad to see your name on the entry list, Jerry.  Are you bringing your own rig or piggy-backing with another car?  The festivities should begin with tech on Tuesday or Wednesday and go into qualifying on Thursday morning.  There'll undoubtedly be a lot of wasted motion related to the 50th Anniversary celebration and, since the pits aren't all that expansive and, since the curfew will cut into available time, this will be an interesting schedule to manage.

See you at the track.

No piggy backing, Wayne who you met last year is going too.  It was one of those if you go I'll go.  So here we are doing our stimulus for the economy.....LOL.

We will have to fit in dinner Chuck.  Look forward to seeing you there.  Not looking forward to the drive.  I also know that many are flying out there too.  Tim and Dave Bishop are flying in.......others too.

Sam,

Hope they like it better than my other buddies from you know where, if you know what I mean.

Just got great video from the Dutch yesterday.  I have to get my buddy to make files smaller to upload for You Tube.  Exceptional runs on the 10.50's passes.  I can't believe the way the car is leaving.  Unbelievable wheel stands.

Jerry - what is your fee? What condition does the vehicle need to be in?
Right now it is in 100+ pieces - and if i could swing your fee, I would love for you to take a look at my car and make sure I am on the right track

All trips and on-site certifications are based on a $500 a day rate plus expenses.  If I have enough cars to do, I can piggy back this trip in the ballpark of $750-800 a car.  That is less than half If I did a car on a solo trip.  I can do the cars in any condition too.  Makes no difference unless you are wanting it inspected for the concours Legend Certification.

Here's a run from the Dutch Classic race Oct 2009, this is 2nd round win for me and on the brakes running a 10.61 on a 10.59 dial. In bracket mode on race day. Turn up the sound. You can hear that 302 winding up to 8500 rpm.

For the racers and Z28 fans, enjoy,

Here's round three at the Dutch Classic, biggest wheel stand and best 60 foot time of the event. 10.58 on the brakes at 119.00 mph, car would run 125 flat out. I was .004 on the tree, Lenny Williams was .006, I took the stripe but lost by six thousandths of a second. Talk about close racing. This run flat out would have been about 10.49 to a 51. Incrementals at 1000 ft told the story if I had not been on the brakes.  National record was a 10.54.
