Competition plus rods
« on: March 14, 2009, 04:42:27 AM »
Hi all,
Does anyone know or know where I can find the Correct part number  or rod numbers for a competition plus shifter? They may be in a bucket with about 20 others.  I will be using this to replace a muncie shifter (factory warranty replacement anyway) in a Stock BB car with a console and was wondering if anybody has any "heads up" on this. Also, does anyone have a picture of a Muncie stick stamped "MUNCIE" that they can post?  as this will be mated to the shifter.
Thanks for reading and good luck on all your projects,

P/N for Hurst shifter w/stick is 391-4339 shifter w/o stick is 391-4340; 1-2 rod is 213-5307; 3-4 is 213-2145; rev is 213-3691. P/N for complete kit (shifter and installation kit) is 291-6561. This is for 67-68 Camaro with or with out console. Hope this helps. Jim

The handle on a Muncie shifter is part of the shifter itself, you'll have to cut the handle and drill 2 holes for it to mate up with a Hurst body, and add a slight bend to it for it look right.  Those handles are seriously hardened, good luck with the drilling of the holes-you need carbide tipped bits.  Been there done that!

 Hi Guys,
Thanks for the replys. Out of 23 rods not  single match, though the shifter and levers are correct. I will check the Long beach Hi-perf swap meet on Sunday, I may get lucky. Thanks again for the Info, picture, and advice.
