67 rear seat
« on: January 20, 2009, 01:04:58 AM »
I have a fold down rear seat for a 67 (I believe its for a 67) and the side panels that sit on either side of it. the pack rats got to it and the cover is torn and some of the stuffing is loose. what is that seat and panels worth?

I think what Ron is trying to say is you should list the items on Ebay for 99 cents each with no reserve and you will get your answer.     :)

I saw someone trying to sell a 69 fold down seat back at Carlisle in I think 07. It was mostly a frame. The upholstery was shot. He was asking 500. I was looking for one and didn't buy it. I did find one in much better shape last year at a smaller swap and bought it for 150. Seat back only no hardware.

That does not always work. I sold a pair of filler panels on e-bay. I eventually got what I wanted and what they were worth at a fair price. The first time I listed them the bidding never went higher than $20. If I used a "no reserve" I would have taken a hit. E-bay can be a tricky place. Better for the buyers--not so much for the sellers. Akin to a casino.

I didnt mean to sound negetive but in this economy we are seeing prices drop on everything.I have allways said when asked what do you think this or that is worth and it comes down to how bad does the buyer want it or how much is someone willing to spend. You askeing us to put a price on something without seeing it which is hard to do.150.00 sound like a good price BUT are you willing to sell it for that? But maybe someone is willing to pay 300.00? Put it up for sale with pics and ask for best offer  ;D

If your selling on eBay I think it's pretty much who's watching at the time you list.  I sold some door handles...it took 3 tries.  The first 2 times I got 0 bids and the 3rd time they went fo $35.00.
