Primer
« on: October 07, 2007, 10:53:17 PM »
I have a 67 K-K code (Emerald Turquoise) Van Nuys built Camaro that is in the process of having the body restored after 40 years of use and abuse. I would like to know what color and/or type of primer was originally used when the factory painted them. Thanx in advance for all replies.

I don't have any real specific info, but I was told on another posting that the red color on my floor boards, under the carpet was the factory primer.

Most primer I've seen on a first gen is dark gray or black.

You should be able to find some of the original primer on the top or bottom of the floors.

I agree. The floor pans on my 3D x-33 are gray primer with black paint sporadically shot here and there.
