dying seat belts

My seat belts are a bit faded looking and was concidering dying them.  Has anyone done this?  What did you use and how did it wok out?

Rit dye with salt works well, but it will stain the label and the clear rubber on the tongue.  I take all that off to redye. More work, but looks better!

I use RIT dye for sun faded carpets as well...
