Clutch Fork spring attachment point on '68...?
« on: November 11, 2008, 02:28:28 AM »
Greetings, all..

I am installing a Muncie in place of the powerglide on my '68, and am curious as to where to attach the clutch fork rod / spring to the car. One end of rod/spring goes on the clutch fork coming out of the bellhousing, but I'm not sure where the other end attaches.

There is a small hole in the driver's side engine mount, there's another small hole near where the lower control arm attaches to the subframe.

Not sure if one of these holes is the place, or another spot?

Also, I assume the rod attaches to the clutch fork, and the spring to the rod, and the other end of the spring to the frame. Hopefully this is accurate.

Any help here would be, as always, very much appreciated.

The forward end of the spring goes in a hole in the horizontal base at the rear edge of the driver's side engine mount frame bracket; see section 7, sheet C3 in the Assembly Manual.
