Z/28 Oil Pan?

I'm new to the forum, please bear with me. I have an oil pan and windage tray that was bought new from a dealership in the mid 80's by a friend. I recently acquired the 350 it was used on and discovered the windage tray upon teardown. The pan has the 2 spotwelds on the baffle near the sump, uses the thin front pan seal, and has 2 spotwelds on the corner tabs. It has 09021 stamped about 2" from the front.  It came painted inside and out when new. Tried to post pictures but can't figure out how. I've read the posts on here and still not sure what it is. Any help is appreciated.

Is the ZZ 28 pan the same as the mid '60's Corvette pan with a baffle?

Its a "Z/28" pan. probably a "465220" per the Chevy Power Manual.  The part number and minor details changed a few times. It was available in the Performance Parts catalog for many years. It was discontinued not that long ago.

Most of the Corvette pans were shaped differently (shallower and longer sump) and are unique to Corvettes.  Corvette windage trays were shorter in length. The front of the Corvette tray is truncated so it only covers the sump, as the pan bottom runs into it there.

Oddly, the '79 Corvette L-82 actually used a version of this "Z/28 style" deeper sump pan with the long windage tray. Only 1 year.

The block changed in '80 (dipstick side) so the pans changed again after that.

While on the topic of original ‘69 SB and Z28 oil pans, does this look like the correct oil pan drain plug?

I read in the 1969 Camaro Judging Legends Manual, the drain plug should include an “A” in the indented head.  The plug I have has concentric rings around the “A”.

Thanks Chick. I went back thru the pics on Skip’s survivor and saw his oil pan drain plug and it does match his.

Was looking thru my used hardware and found my used oil pan drain plug. I was not sure if it was was the original. Will get it cleaned up, painted, and back on my ‘69!
