Thanks for all the feedback guys! I've rounded up the 186's and a shifter setup for the car. Now I have to decide if the block is going to stay or if the car deserves a DZ implant. The cast # and date are good on this block.  Are you guys sure this is a restamp before I swap it out? Kurt are there any same day assemblies in the data base?

The block is a restamp... however it could have been decked when it was rebuilt... and then someon restamped the numbers in it.

I would look carefully for the oil filter vin to see if this is the original block. If it isn't, I personally wouldn't waste my money getting a real DZ block that would be essentially the same and still be NOM to this car.

I would keep that block and use it. It makes no difference.

No other blocks stamped with that date. And it is a restamp for sure.

OK, but make it fast and painless ;) Here's the full VIN so it can be logged for posterity N644317. I'm not lettin some some future owner resurrect an original block N644317. It works fine in my stable of miss fit toys.....:)
