Survivor 67 SS350
« on: March 10, 2008, 03:18:11 AM »
Hello, Jeff here.  As you can tell by my userID I'm mostly a Chevelle guy, but have recently acquired a 39K mile 67 SS350 that is 99.5% untouched original and in incredible condition.  I'm wondering if there is a process with CRG or anyone else to have the car inspected to document the details, finishes, etc., for the benefit of others who are restoring 67's.

The car is original paint and interior, gold with black vinyl top, no rear spoiler, black deluxe interior, bumper guards, AC, PS, PDB (4-piston), DG rallies with original rings and caps in place, powerglide, 12-bolt, posi (oddly enough), buckets, console, fold down rear seat, and push button AM radio.

From 10 feet away you'd think it was just restored.  It still wears its original CA black plates and the tag frames from the selling dealership in Elk Grove CA.  The bottom of the car is clean enough to eat off of, literally, with no evidence it has ever been in the rain.  The subframe even has the date stamp still crisp and clear on the pass side rail, with original spirals and spring tags easily visible.

The only changes I've found are add-on water temp and oil pressure guages, and replacement of the AC compressor belt (still has the other 3 original embossed belts), radiator hoses, battery, mufflers, and 4 tires (spare appears original).

It needs to be documented for others' reference.  Any ideas?  Thanks - Jeff

Jeff,

As you can tell, we like pictures! ;D  ;D  ;D

Some hints:
You cannot post a picture from Quick Reply, so use tbe Reply button at bottom of this page.  In Reply page, click Additional Options.  An Attach feature will appear.  In Attach, use Browse to find the picture on your computer and attach it.  The pic cannot be any larger than 128KB.  If it is, then use a third party like Photobucket.

Hope this helps...

BTW, we used to drag race (legally) Chevelles back in the 60s and 70s... Send me a PM about your Chevelle(s):  lakeholme@charter.net

Second that-I'll be in Carlisle this year, hopefully in the Legends class so let us know if you take that route because I would love to see your car first hand.
Info for Nationals: http://americancamaro.org/nationals.php

If not you should contact Jerry MacNeish directly-he'll come to you and is on this site regularly.
His web site is: www.z28camaro.com

Good luck with the car!
