CRG HELP!!!!!!!!!!
I have a problem that needs your help!!!!!!!!! I am looking at purchasing a powerglide that is supposed to be a 67. Problem is this, no where on the tranny pan can we find any numbers what so ever. I did find these numbers on the inside of the bell housing where the Torque conmverter is placed. B 7 4. Anyone have a clue what these numbers mean??? Is it odd not to find any numbers at all on the tranny pan? maybe this tranny had it's pan replaced, but would there not be some type of Identification for this? We scrubbed the whole pan clean and could not find anything.

CRG!!!!!!!
I found some other numbers on the tranny. One set is 3486 and the other number is 164. Any ideas on what these may be?

Don't know much about powerglides. I'll just refer you to Colvin's CBTN.
And as long as it looks right and fits, it should be fine. The pan had the trans code on it and it sounds like it was replaced.

The date code for a 67 pg is stamped on the passenger side of the pan. Mine
is T 7 A 23. T=toledo pg, 7=1967, A=january, 23= day, Sometimes you have
to look real close to find the numbers

I've a similar situation - no #s on my PG pan either. You may try removing the pan and checking the valve body. I've seen photos from Munroe's PG book that indicate that its date coded.
