Custom seats
« on: December 29, 2007, 09:32:04 PM »
Can anyone tell me what type/model/year seats, other than the originals, will fit a '68?  I saw a '68 with '91 T-bird front seats but not sure if they or the seat pans had to be modified.  Also looking for respectable place to get replacement VIN and cowl tags--if anyone has a suggestion.

And do you have any original documentation and know the history of the car and what your VIN was?

Still have the originals but very worn--hardly readable.  I'm restoring a car that's been in my family since it's manufacture and am replacing just about everything.

Can't help much with seats, There was a thread on this site about newer f body seats that installed well, I would think that almost any bucket could be adapted without too much trouble.

RE the tags, repop trim tags available, but most are going to be spotted, and may raise questions about the authenticity especially if you have a more desirable model, or options.

You are not allowed to replace the VIN tag, that would be a federal offense.
