Engine lift brackets
« on: May 27, 2007, 09:30:50 PM »
Does anyone have a correct photo of the engine lift brackets on the intake of a 69 327.  I assume all SB cars sould be the same.  Why do you never see these on a "restored" car?  I know this engine had them because they were in the same bag as all other intake hardware and they have two special bolts while missing two normal intake bolts.  Dave

Dave -

Could you please post a photo of your brackets?  Are there any letters or numbers (i.e. "K", "S", etc.) stamped on them?  Thanks for your response.

There is also a good photo of the front hook in place in my 1969 Camaro fact book on page 11.  The rear lift hook installs in the very last hole on the passenger's side of the engine.

Thanks Dave -

The front hook (right one in your first photo) appears to be mounted in the second hole from the front on the driver's side of the engine per Jerry's book.

Thank you gentlemen.  I had just picked up that very book when I decided to check for responses.  Dave

Did the brackets always stay on the engine after the car was finished?
