1969 Radio delete /factory 8 track
« on: December 16, 2024, 01:25:45 AM »
Would a 69 radio delete with a factory 8 track have engine grounds and inner fender to frame grounds? Voltage regulator noise suppressor? Thanks

I do know this, there is no such thing as a radio delete. If the order box is not checked ,the radio does not get installed.

Also, I don't think you could have ordered an 8-track without some type of radio, probably a am/fm stereo version.

In the AIM, U57 pg. A5 depicts the wiring connection for an under dash 8-track on a car built without a radio.

I have no idea why a car w/o radio would need the ground straps. Was it built with them?

Nope, the tape player could be ordered by itself all three years.

John,
What's the AIM show for grounds in the U57 section? I don't have the AIM handy this second.

Looking through the 67 AIM, U57 A1-A4 there are no ground straps listed. I assume since it's not using radio frequencies there wouldn't be any interference from other sources.
