1969 Camaro Dashboard speaker delete cardboard
« on: May 01, 2023, 02:04:58 AM »
Does anyone have pictures or knowledge of what holds the speaker cover cardboard in place on a non radio car?
I have the remains of what I believe is the original black cardboard piece,  but don’t see how it was fastened originally. I have the AIM, but haven’t found the correct section in it. In any case I have to purchase or make a new one, just want it installed correctly if possible. As always, thank you CRG members.

Not sure if this will help as I don’t know anything about this item being sold:  https://www.heartbeatcitycamaro.com/21940/67-68-69-Camaro-%26-Firebird-Dash-Speaker-Grille-Block-Off-Cover/

Per the AIM, the assembly line workers were "supposed" to use the 3839835 tape, which is very similar to black duct tape or a heavy making tape, but as you can see from the pictures in THIS THREAD, they apparently used whatever they had laying around!! Anyone that's ever worked in a warehouse knows exactly what it is! Warehouse floor safety tape!

Wow all, thanks again! I would’ve bet for sure. There was some sort of little bracket or tab or strip that held it up there but tape it is! Thank you for the source for the correct tape. I’ll skip the warehouse tape this time around!
