Flowmaster American Thunder System 17104
« on: February 12, 2023, 08:20:55 PM »
Hello,

I Have a factory small block 350 dual exhaust car and wanted to replace the exhaust.  I was considering the Flowmaster American Thunder 17104 system.  Can you use the factory exhaust hangers or do you have to drill through the floorboard and use the hangers they provide.  I would like to really use the factory hangers to make it look as original as possible.  any insight anyone can provide would be great!  Thanks  :)[/b]

the tail pipe hangers might be able to be used but I currently have this on the 68 L78 car.  Im not a fan.  I plan to replace in the future with something more day 2.  I have an old Thrush transverse muffler and maybe have a system bent up like I did my 67.  I ran the Pypes Race Crossflow Muffler and it sounded decent with an X pipe.  Here are some photos and links of that system and a couple clips of the green car and my old blue 67.  But to answer your original question you can use factory locations but not the clamps on the tail pipes.
