1969 RS Wheel Well Trim
« on: January 09, 2022, 12:44:15 AM »
I have a nice set of repop trims that I need to get put on my 69 RS.
I searched and can't find details on where to place the rears. It looks like all the way to the bottom of the rear lip and let it fall where it falls in the front (talking rears here).

The other thing I can't figure out is what screw is correct for the rears and the two holes in the fronts. Between two parts houses and what came with the trim, I have 3 sizes of screws.
7/16" Head
9/32" Head
5/16" Head

All the same shaft diameter and all close to the same length.
Which ones are correct?

Any tips or tricks to putting these on a car that has never had them?
Drilling holes for the rears doesn't really excite me and I need to be careful of the paint, and advice would be appreciated.

I put masking tape on both the wheel lip and the trim, use squeeze clamps to hold the trim in place, then use a center punch and a small drill bit to drill pilot holes.

They really only fit in one place- once you get the tape on move it around til it looks right.
