Pete,

Here are the tag #'s for you.

12437 is GM's #s denoting Camaro sport coupe with standard interior. The NOR# is the Norwood, Ohio plant sequence# for when and where the car was made.

760z is black standard interior with with custom bucket seat trim.

F-F is Marina Blue paint color (top & bottom, no vinyl).

2LG is 4-speed with a console.

3SL is interior decor group, Rally Sport option

4K is the one that's exciting: SS-396/375 hp !!!!

Hope this helps,
Dan

If the car originally had a 396/375 motor it should have the SS badges, hood,12 bolt etc you didn't mention this in the post. Is it a RS/SS?

Only 1138 of the L78 cars were made in 67. Throw in the RS option and this is a pretty rare car. 8)    If it were me, I would keep it, might not have a chance at another.

HI, Thanks for all the replies. As I said when I bought the car 30 yrs ago it was gutted for drags, the guy iI got it from stripped the car, I made a semi pro steet of it then and I now have to re do the car. so low and behold I came to this site to see if I had any thing of value, funny myself and a guy from work have talked and I said "What are the chances I have a r/s s/s big block" and he said you never know. Now I know this car can never be a numbers match but I showed you guys my cowl tag. So what should I do, restore it as original, re do pro street, or sell?

124377N212822  partial is 7N212822 And to answer Tinkers question, I stated this car was bought by me 30 yrs ago from a gas station it was gutted for drags so I have asked all who answered to decode my cowl tag and you have responded Thanks, Now only to figure out which way to go to restore it

Pete:

Thanks for sharing the information on your car.  IMHO the car is a classic and it would be nice to see it returned to its original glory.  About a month ago I bartered a 1968 L78 block and heads for work on my 68 RS SS and I do know the shop still has the parts.  If you are interested contact me and I can give you the contact information for the shop.

HI, I started to look for period correct parts and already found a radius rod complete with brackets.
