Le Circuit Mont-Tremblant Multiple 1968 Camaro Converts Driver Intros for USRRC

Multiple white 1968 Camaro Convertibles were used to chauffeur the race drivers around the track for driver introductions prior to the United States Road Racing Championship (USRRC) event held at Le Circuit Mont-Tremblant near St. Jovite, Quebec, Canada on Sunday, June 2, 1968. 

This first picture looks like it came from a period newspaper or magazine with the caption below.  Although the event is not named in the caption I have been able to figure out that it was the USRRC event because out of the four major motor racing events held at Le Circuit Mont-Tremblant during the 1968 season the two drivers mentioned in the caption only participated in the USRRC event.
 
The race would be won by Mark Donohue in his Chevy powered Penske McLaren M6A.

Original amateur home movie footage of part of the driver introduction parade for this event exists and has been posted on Youtube!  While it is mislabled "1969" it is clearly 1968 because the track would not use one model year old cars in this manner.  In addition, the cars in the footage match the car in the newspaper/magazine picture posted above.

It seems the Camaros were optioned out in different ways but all the Camaros were white with blue interiors.  Most had the later D90 stripes in blue.  Notice that there appears to be one RS/SS 396 Camaro convertible with rally wheels and the blacked out tail panel.  Some have the Super Sport option and most are Rally Sports.  There does seem to be a standard model with the turn signals in the grill.  Multiple different wheel covers were used on the cars as well as red line tires, rear spoilers and bumper guards.

This first picture shows a darker colored 1968 Camaro RS/SS convertible pulled up along side of one of the white Camaro convertibles carrying race car drivers.  While I can't confirm that James Garner and Dick Smothers are in the second Camaro filming for the movie "The Racing Scene," I do believe that the darker colored Camaro was the pace car used by the Le Circuit Mont-Tremblant during their 1968 race season.  I have pictures of it being used at other events later in the year that I will post at a later date.

I'm not sure what wheel covers are on the Camaros in the last two photos.  It also looks like they have the D91 nose stripe.  One of these cars appears to be a standard model (non RS).

My memory is failing me right now but could you get the D90 nose stripes that go down the sides of the body in blue or was this some kind of special order?  I only remember ever seeing them in white or black.

Only white or black stripes in 67 and 68.

Do you think that the dealer who provided these cars to the track would have applied the stripes in blue or could this have been done at the factory?

I'm not convinced they are blue. It looks black with a color tint shift.
Seeing the cars weren't anything notable, I'd say they weren't special stripe color from the factory. And the door part of the stripe is a decal - it wouldn't be available in blue....

The car in the upper right corner appears to be a non-RS car with its lights on.  I believe that would explain the illuminated inboard lights.  One of the non-RS cars appears in Reply #3 on this page.
