Any local specialists in SoCal available for inspection?
« on: May 20, 2020, 01:15:59 AM »
Hi Camaro friends,

I'm looking at a 67 SS 396, that's been frame off restored.

Engine is a 402 from 1970, rebuilt, under 1,000 miles on it.

It's been converted into an RS, headlights work great. They did the tails too.

4N on the trim tag.

Originally came with deluxe parchment interior. It's black now. Originally was automatic, now manual.

Based on video (I will evaluate in person hopefully soon), body and all work appears to be done extremely well.

Non matching numbers, and I assume many parts from different vehicles on this car.

CA car, no rust.

Asking is over 50, but that's asking.

I have my opinion on fair market value, but I'd like to know what others think.

I'd also like to put out there, are there any specialists in southern CA, that I can hire to come check it out with me?

From the start it is not matching numbers, and it has had some modifications done that you are already aware of. IMO the value of the car now is in the sheet metal and how solid the body is, since is it far from being original, or even in original configuration. In 50k price range would be resto-mod money, with modern drive train and suspension components. For a 67 that has been restored Carte Blanche, to resemble a car that could have been ordered, I have seen them in the mid 30's.
So are you asking for someone to inspect the car based on the quality of the build and metal work?
