Seam sealer question....

Is there an application of seam sealer on the leading edge of the rocker panel (69 Camaro) designed to seal the flange gap from when the racker panel was formed? This surface would be what mates to the back edge of the front fender.

Thanks Tim! I never thought about the air flow thing, just kept thinking that water off the front tire would fly right in there, forgot about the splash shields.
