date codes perhaps?  Did the OTC chevy fenders have week date codes?

Later over the counter fenders seemed to have a more rounded vs.. crisp line from the what has been contributed to die wear. Overall, not an issue IMO.

ASSEMBLY LINE FENDERS VALENCES HOODS ETC will have a week of production (1 or 2 digit numeric) stamped into them. 
Fenders will have the digits stamped on the skirt which falls into the engine compartment engine compartment near the rad support. Upper valences are stamped on the area where the grille mounts, lower valences are stamped along the edge that bolts to the fender extension, hoods on the drivers rear corner.
Deck lids are on the inner structure (3 digits) Quarters are stamped in the curve area where the decklid mates just outside the hinge area something like the following H51
 H = stamping plant
51 = week of year.

The Yellow hood has 53. 53rd week of the year!

Deck lid stampings have a letter and 2 digit number. All of them I have seen are a "T" with 2 digits. Not 3 digits.

Does anyone know what plants the 'H' and 'T' stamping plant codes stand for??

We've talked about Hoods before (that factory installed hoods have the date code, whereas parts produced for the parts counters OTC do not have such codes).  Does the same apply for fenders, deck lids, doors, etc??

Wouls anyone have a pic of a fender with #s on it? Just looked and cant seem to find anything. Car was bought in 1975 and repainted in the late 70s. Supposedely had the original paint and fenders on it. You can still see the original Z stripes on the rear panel below window.

So the right has a 15 and the left has an 11. Could that be the 15th and 11th week of production an 04D car.  If so could that mean they were drilled for the Z28 emblems from the factory seeing those are the only emblem holes in fenders.

YES 11th and 15th week of 1968...
They were not drilled they were pierced using a fixture, most of the time you can tell as there is a slight depression/bevel around the hole... EXTREMELY SLIGHT.
When the "punch" extends into the metal it will depress slightly prior to piercing through and traveling into the female side of the die.

Deck lid stampings have a letter and 2 digit number. All of them I have seen are a "T" with 2 digits. Not 3 digits.

The front end sheetmetal is the only ones which I have found that have only the week without an H or T ALSO the characters are probably 3/16" whereas the H/T dates are 1/8"... everything on the body has a H or T on the deck lids.
I am sure it was so they could isolate a problem if a DIE needed to be retooled for production, because after production the NOS GM panels no longer have dates.

That's consistent with the parts on my car; only week # on hood and fenders, and 'plant/week' on the remainder of the car's metal.

Does that mean that GM Assembly was responsible for specifying/procuring the front end sheet metal, while Fisher only produced/procured the rest of the car (consistent with their assembly responsibilities)?
